Truphone – Free calls & messages, local or international app good for
If you need to call internationally from your iPhone, this is the app for you. Working over either a Wifi connection or by passing the call off to a local number and routing it from there via voice over ip, the Truphone app delivers good voice quality, good prices and good reliability. Being in a long distance relationship, Ive used this app an awful lot and it has saved me loads!
I use when I go to Europe, with my boingo wifi account. Find wifi, make a cheap call with no roaming. Call quality is great, this will of course vary with the qualty of the wifi connection. I dont know why some other people have problems.
Try lot of time but not working with new updates pls do some thing thanks
I can only sign into MSN and Skype.
Yahoo and Google Talk keep showing the circle formed lines as though its connecting but it never signs me in. If that could be looked into, Id make this my all in one App for staying in touch with all my friends!
I loved this application! It installed easily, was very intuitive. The main website was very helpful. Sound quality was very good - not quite as good as the regular phone, but very close. And the price for long distance is very reasonable. It was as easy to use as the regular iPhone.
This is a very efficient app. The sound is good even for cellphone to cellphone calls.

Some bad moments
When Truphone attempts to call +55 11 3711 5773 for the Truphone Anywhere Call, the call just doesn´t go through. It is immediately disconnected! What is the use of Truphone, if a can´t use it to make a call via the cellular network. For WiFi calls I can always use Skipe directly! I hope this is corrected very shortly, as I used to enjoy using Truphone in its prior version.
The fees in the website is not the same as charged when you make a call
Tru Friends dont work! Version with OS 2.0 was very good but in this version 3.0 are not good it crashed! Please a new update without bugs . Thanks
Crashes within seconds of loading. Ive bought time that I cannot use.
this app adds a self-promoting tag to your skype name "[skype name] www.truphone.om - taking skype mobile". you can remove it, but it just comes back. I havent bought time from them - its REALLY expensive - use a phone card or buy time from skype.
... But unless you have access to wireless, any call you make on cellular data network will cost you long distance to Toronto, plus the Truphone fee. If you restrict yourself to wireless use only, its just the $0.05/min Truphone cost.
